Welcome to Unstable Magix

Hey there, fellow seekers, skeptics, and people who got here by accident and decided to stay—welcome to Unstable Magix. This isn’t your typical journey into magic, and it’s definitely not one of those blogs promising you’ll “unleash your inner sorceress” by next Tuesday. (Honestly, if you do figure that out, send me an email!)

So, who am I, and why am I doing this? I’m Everlie Blackthorn, a sometimes-awkward, sometimes-accidental practitioner of folk magic who’d really rather not be called a witch. Unstable Magix is a place for the real-deal magic of the mundane—where we go back to the basics of folk wisdom, herbs, wild beliefs, and maybe a little more dirt under the fingernails than you’re used to seeing in your typical “witchy aesthetic” photos. My goal here is simple: to take you along on my messy journey, to stumble through lessons with humor, and to share a kind of magic that’s practical, earthy, and refreshingly human.

What you’ll find here:
Expect stories that don’t always go according to plan, and spells that might just involve whatever you have lying around. I believe magic is everywhere, but it doesn’t come pre-packaged. You’ll see a mix of grounded folklore, hard-won insights, and (occasionally) the type of humor that comes from yet another “learning experience.” My aim isn’t to give you all the answers—it’s to show you that sometimes, not having the answers is the best part.

What you won’t find here:
You won’t find me claiming to have all the secrets to life or that I was born with an enchanted destiny (I wasn’t). And while I can appreciate a good spell book, I won’t be the one telling you that rosemary can save your soul. I’d rather bring you down-to-earth, rooted practices that feel like they belong as much in the garden as they do in the spiritual world.

Whether you’re exploring folk magic for the first time, trying to find your own path without a bunch of frills, or just looking for someone who’ll tell it to you straight, I’m glad you’re here. If Unstable Magix has a mission, it’s this: to embrace the beauty in our imperfect selves and to remember that real magic is often right there in our everyday lives—stumbling and all.

So, grab a cup of tea (or something stronger), settle in, and let’s see what we uncover together. Magic may be unstable, but it’s real, and it’s ours to explore.

Here’s to the journey, mistakes and all.

Everlie
